Nashville

Muscle Shoals
Where Rock ‘n’ Roll is located alongside the Tennessee River! Muscle Shoals Alabama is the unlikely breeding ground for some of America’s most creative and influential music. The music created near the “Singing River” changed the world and Muscle Shoals became “Hit Recording Capital of the World!
Memphis
Memphis is a centre for media and entertainment, notably a its historic music scene. The city has been nicknamed the “Home of the Blues” but in reality its music is a mix of country, rock and roll, soul and of course Memphis Blues. Famous attractions include Elvis Presley’s Graceland Mansion, Sun Studio, The Memphis Pyramid and STAX Museum of American Soul Music.
Itinerary
After you arrive in Nashville and check in to the Clarion Hotel, it will be time to meet your tour manager and travel companions for welcome drinks in the hotel bar.
This morning we depart after breakfast for a guided tour of Historic RCA Studio B followed by a Self-Guided Tour of the Country Music Hall of Fame! Use this afternoon’s free time to explore the Honky-tonks of Broadway at your own pace.
After breakfast in the hotel we make the short trip to Franklin, Kentucky where we will experience small town America at its very best. Upon our return to Nashville you will be free to relax and explore at your own pace.
Free time in Music City today, perhaps enjoy ribs at Rippy’s or a tour of the Ryman Auditorium. We will travel to Opryland this evening for a meal at The Nashville Palace followed by a show at the Grand Ole Opry!
The choice is yours, a lazy day or chat to your tour manager about our optional shopping and sightseeing trip.
It’s your last full day in Nashville, Tennessee. Perhaps you’ll want to go shopping for souvenirs, travel with us to some more optional attractions or simply enjoy more fabulous live music in Downtown Nashville. There is really so much to see and do in Music City – you will be spoilt for choice.
It is time to say goodbye to Music City and head off to Lynchburg, Tennessee for a visit to Jack Daniel’s Distillery and lunch at Miss Mary Bobo’s. Then it is time to make our way to Muscle Shoals, Alabama!
A trip to Rick Hall’s FAME Studios is followed by a tour and photo op. at the iconic Muscle Shoals Sound building at 3614 Jackson Highway. Muscle Shoals sound relocated to a larger facility now known as Cypress Moon where the owner, a cousin of Elvis Presley, is always happy to meet our groups and show us around. You may even see some session Musicians and songwriters at work. A group lunch and the Water, Light & Music Show in Spring Park follows.
After breakfast we will continue our Muscle Shoals discovery with visits to Tom’s Wall, Helen Keller’s birthplace and a tour of Big River Broadcasting. This evening we will enjoy a meal, live music and Dancing at the Rattlesnake Saloon!
This morning we will leave Muscle Shoals for the day and travel along the scenic Natchez Trace Parkway to Tupelo Mississippi and Elvis Presley’s Birthplace. We all know about his meteoric rise to fame and here you can see how it began, you can even visit the hardware store where Elvis bought his first guitar! Then we’ll travel to Red Bay, Alabama, home of the late great Country Superstar Tammy Wynette. After lunch we’ll learn all about her at The Red Bay Museum.
it’s time to say goodbye to Muscle Shoals with a visit to the Alabama Music Hall of Fame before leaving for Memphis, Tennessee. During our time in this vibrant city, we’ll learn about the music that was born there and the “King” who called it home! Spend some time on Beale Street, where you can enjoy the sounds of Memphis Blues and Soul and, of course, some good old Rock ‘n’ Roll at Jerry Lee Lewis’ Cafe & Honky Tonk!
It’s time to visit Sam Phillip’s Sun Studio, followed by a tour of one of the most famous homes in the world – Elvis Presley’s Graceland Mansion. Then you are free to explore Memphis at your own pace.
The tour ends after breakfast today and the last stop on Southern Style is Nashville Airport.
