Dallas

Kennedy’s assassination in 1963. In the Arts District, the Dallas Museum of Art and the Crow Collection of Asian Art cover thousands of years of art
Fort Worth
Fort Worth is a city in North Central Texas. In the late 19th century, it became an important trading post for cowboys at the end of the Chisholm Trail. Today, it’s a modern city, with international art institutions like the Kimbell Art Museum. The Fort Worth Stockyards are home to rodeos, and the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame honors pioneers
Austin
We will be spending 2 nights in Austin
Austin is the state capital of Texas, an inland city bordering the Hill Country region. Home to the University of Texas flagship campus, Austin is known for its eclectic live-music scene centered around country, blues and rock
San Antonio
We will be spending 1 night in San Antonio
San Antonio is a major city in south-central Texas with a rich colonial heritage. The Alamo, an 18th-century Spanish mission preserved as a museum, marks an infamous 1836 battle for Texan independence from Mexico. Following the San Antonio River, the miles-long River Walk is a landmark pedestrian promenade lined with cafes and shops. HemisFair Park’s 750-ft.
Houston
We will be spending 1 night in Houston
Houston is a large metropolis in Texas, extending to Galveston Bay. It’s closely linked with the Space Center Houston, the coastal visitor center at NASA’s astronaut training and flight control complex. The city’s relatively compact Downtown includes the Theater District, home to the renowned Houston Grand Opera, and the Historic District, with 19th-century architecture and upscale restaurants
Itinerary
Welcome to Dallas Texas! Once you are checked in feel free to join your fellow travellers, guide & driver for an informal welcome meeting.
After breakfast, you are free to join our optional tour of Southfork Ranch, home of TV’s favourite Oil Family, The Ewings! followed by a city tour including Dealey Plaza National Historic Landmark District which includes the former Texas School Book Depository, now the 6th Floor Museum – two of the locations forever associated with the assassination of John F. Kennedy. This evening we will take you to Billy Bob’s Texas – the world’s largest honky-tonk!
Today it’s a visit to Fort Worth’s Stockyards to see a cattle drive and so much more! You could enjoy a meal at the famous Cattlemen’s Steakhouse and spend your free time exploring the Stockyards before heading off to Sundance Square for some R&R!
As we wave goodbye to Dallas, we travel to Austin – not just the capital of Texas, but also home to some of the largest music events and festivals in the world, including South by Southwest, Austin City Limits, The Urban Music Festival, and the Pecan Street Festival. If you ever wondered why Austin is known as the Live Music Capital – it’s because Austin has more music venues per capita than anywhere else in the United States. So, after a city tour, you can spend the rest of your time here listening to everything from blues to rock, country to jazz and more. With Austin having nearly 250 live music venues you can catch a show any time on any day.
Today you will have more free time to discover what and who made Austin famous… In American music history, Austin has helped start or grow the careers of big-time artists like Janis Joplin, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Willie Nelson. A stroll on 6th Street can turn up music in some unexpected places – so keep your eyes open! Threadgills and Stubb’s BBQ are highly recommended for great food and fantastic music.
Today we will travel to San Antonio where you have the option to visit the famous Alamo, where you will learn about the history of the Alamo, its valiant defenders and why, as the saying goes, “Whoever controls the Alamo controls San Antonio and whoever controls San Antonio controls Texas!” It is also said that the Alamo’s history is a “story bigger than Texas.” Our San Antonio adventure will continue with a trip along the beautiful River Walk and free time to enjoy this wonderful city.
This morning we will travel Houston Texas where you can enjoy an optional tour of NASA‘s Johnson Space Center. The Center, features more than 400 space artefacts and fantastic permanent and travelling exhibits, on a visit you can enjoy many wonderful experiences and shows which relate to the remarkable past and exciting future of America’s human space-flight program. After checking in to our hotel, you will be free to explore Houston’s Downtown Area where you can enjoy great food, great music and make great memories or you can enjoy an optional farewell dinner with the others in the group. A perfect end to your Simply Texas Tour.
Following a leisurely breakfast, your Simply Texas journey sadly comes to an end! It is time to to wave goodbye to Houston as we travel to the airport for your journey home… or, perhaps, some of you will be extending your tour with us on Travelling Time’s “Boogie Bus” to New Orleans Louisiana. Next stop -The Big Easy!
